Ottawa Dog Blog is 2!

The Ottawa Dog Blog came into being on February 15th, 2008. I can’t believe it’s been two years! I’ve had such fun doing the blog and I owe everything to you, my readers!

For now, I am hosting the second Ottawa Dog Blog Contest Giveaway, sponsored by Ottawa Dog Blog and Bark & Fitz Kanata!

This year’s top prize is all about nutrition! The winner will get a copy of The Healthy Dog’s Cook Book as well as an Ottawa Dog Blog Bowl and treats and delicious meal muffins from Bark & Fitz and more!

New this year: Runner up will win two dog tail leash hooks!

  • You must live in Ottawa & Area
  • Leave a comment below with your name, your dog’s name, your dog’s breed, your dog’s age, dog’s favourite food/treat and what part of Ottawa & Area you live in!

  • Contest runs from February 15th, 2010 @ 12:01am and closes February 28th, 2010 @ midnight.

    Hi,my name is Jennifer and my three consist of a Boxer, Seamus (8), a Terrier Surprise, Charlie (3) and a Yorkie, Pickle (7). I also foster dogs and at the moment have a mini doxie/min pin/Italian Greyhound mix named Pablo (13). They all LOVE homemade tuna fudge the best but anything with stinky cheese in it works as well. Oh, and sweet potatoes and squash..they can’t get enough. I live near Vernon. (Ontario not BC :)

    Hi, I’m Sarah and my Wirehaired Griffon, Mowgli, is exactly 8 months today! Mowgli loves anything edible (and not edible!) but especially loves anything with fish in it. He is the least picky dog we’ve ever had. The only food he has turned his head away from is lemons and even then he tried them first! We live near the Arboretum.

I’m Sarah and my two munchkins are Jorja (like Georgia), who is almost 2 and her breed is called Canaan, and Pete, who we think is almost a year old and he is a rescued street dog from India (a real life slumdog), his breed would be a mix of Indian pariah, and a mishmash of some native Indian hound breeds and anything else that roams Amehdabad. They both absolutely love bits of cheese and freeze dried liver. We live in New Edinburgh.

    G’Day! I’m Melissa, and my dog is Rory. Rory is a Cairn Terrier who’s wire fur never grew in – so I guess she’s a soft-coated Cairn, which don’t technically exist, so I guess my little girl is unique. Rory just turned 2 on January 2nd, and has a huge appetite for pretty much anything that’s put in front of her.
    She loves most treats, however she will never say ‘no’ to a pig’s ear.

    Happy Birthday Ottawa Dog Blog! I’m Erin and my little monster is CoCo who I brought back from the Dominican Republic. I’m not sure what breeds are in her, but she looks like a very tall jack russell terrier, and she’s usually the fastest dog in the park. Her favourite treat is her kong stuffed with frozen peanut butter and banana. We live in Vanier and Coco turned 1 in January.

    its Chris in the east end of Ottawa with Emma, the 1 year old cocker spaniel mix. She likes to eat Romain lettuce ribs and freeze dried liver… and of course peanut butter.

  35. We’re the Barnetts near Hoggsback.

    There’s a Puli named Zao (which means Alive in Greek and Early in Chinese), and she’s 7 as far as I know, and Omatchiu (which means Hunter in Cree)

    . Zao carries around a stuffed animal all the time and Omatchiu likes to eat EVERYTHING.

    Congratulations on your fantastic first 2 years with the Blog! Happy Birthday! WOOF, WOOF !! (That’s from Bubbles, one of your 2009 Ottawa Dog of the Week stars.) My BIG black beauty girl is 142 lbs of pure Newfoundland love, and is always “bubbly” in personality. Rescued her last July, and she looked like a trainwreck. However, 7 months later, loads of love, she’s 90% back and loving just about anything, but particularly her peanut butter and then there’s her salmon treats too. Keep the Blog going, it’s an incredible site: so newsy, educational and entertaining too. Cheers!

    We have 2 German Shorthaired Pointers: Bogart (almost 3 yo and app 70#) and Shiraz (5.5 yo and app 40#).

    We live in Kanata and our dogs’ favourite treats are almost anything, really :) They love veggies and fruit, peanut butter, almonds, yogurt and love to chew on marrow bones stuffed with salmon Roll-over.

    I live in Orleans, just walking minutes from the river, with my bf and our two huskies:

    1) Nala, our black N white blue eyed female who is almost 1.5 years.
    2) Koda, our newest addition. He’s turning 12weeks this week and he’s a deep red/brown N white blue eyed male.

    They both love cheese and freeze dried chicken treats! Things can get pretty heptic with 2 young huskies! But we love them!

    Hello to all, Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary…good work. My name is Michelle and my special companion is Jack a Corgi and large Chihuahua mix…it’s true!!! Jack is turning three in a couple of weeks. We share the same birthday…he comes from a small rescue organization and paper work on him was iffy.     Our dog is Rufus, an almost 3 year old Wheaten Terrier. Rufus loves anything he can sink his little teeth onto. He absolutely loves cheese, a peanut butter stuffed kong and froz yogurt from B&F! (how fitting!!) Lucky for us, we live minutes away from Bruce pit!!
