Last Minutes with ODEN from phos pictures on Vimeo.
Thank You Jason Wood for allowing us this moment. Oden’s struggle with cancer finally came to an end. May he rest in peace and his memory be eternal.
This video is a really moving look into the last day in ODEN’s battle with cancer. Make sure you have your kleenex because I promise you will not have dry eyes before even the middle of this story. I know that I didn’t and I am STILL teary even watching it an hour ago.
Thank you Sarah for sending in this link.
If you have an old soul and would like to capture them in photographs, please contact me. I always leave time for these very important sessions.

Yes the video was sad…it’s not easy to put down your pet…do we really need to watch such a story on a dog blog?
What was the point?? There are many links regarding grieving the lost of a pet that might have been a better choice.
PS I work in palliative care.

Wow – thanks for posting this Liz – it was hard to watch but a great reminder to spend quality time with our pets while they’re here. Not to just leave them locked in a crate all day. When we make them an active part of our lives they change us for the better.
I don’t want to think about that day when it comes but it’s just as much a part of owning a dog as bringing him or her home that first day.

It’s a beautiful video – that acts as a sort of momento mori for our pets.
I think watching a story like this on a dog blog is a good thing. Because as much as we don’t like to think about it, putting down a pet is sometimes a reality we all have to face. And although, death is a sad thing, it’s always a reminder to think about the time we have with every living thing, both people and animals.
Videos like this can be inspirational to people. And I personally believe that this video isn’t just about grieving or loss, it’s about one person’s experience with their pet. And, it’s the feelings that arise for these two beings, that the watcher does not know, and the relationship between the watchers experiences and video.
There is beauty in death, especially in the death of animals and humans that have loved eachother unconditionally for their entire lives.
