Our young dog escaped from a window yesterday, likely spooked by the quake. When we got home from work, we discovered he had ripped through the screen and have been searching all over for him since. We are desperately worried about him, and want to get him home as soon as possible. He’s only 9months! I have attached a copy of the poster we’ve been putting up all over the Sandyhill area.
He is a white golden retriever and is very friendly. His name is Balu. Please email Vanessa or call call 613-789-5599

Keep phone the Humane Society.
any news yet?
none yet that I have heard…
Hello all. Thank you for your concern. We’re still on the look out for Balu. We’ve called all the local vets and the humane society, but have come up empty so far. We really miss the guy and any information would be appreciated. Thank you and have happy Canada day.
Posters are up all over the place. I see them in my neighbourhood and all the way on my route to work. I hope so much that someone gets in contact with you.
I hope you find your dog soon

I saw this posted on Craigslist. Could it be Balu? What area did he go missing from? I hope he comes home safe and sound soon!
Thank you Kristin – I have forwarded the link to Balu’s owners and I may call them if i don’t hear anything in the next hour.
@Kirsten – I heard back from the family and that dog was not Balu. That dog is home but Balu is still missing.
Definitely keeping an eye out, I hope he comes home!
Someone must know something??!
I am constantly keeping my eyes open. I feel for the owners and hope Balu is found soon.
Still hoping this guy will found. Thinking of his family…
Thank you so much guys. We are still out everyday looking for him, though I admit to being a bit exhausted now. It really helps knowing that everybody is keeping an eye out for him. We miss him very much and aren’t ready to give up on him.
You may also want to try posting on RDOC website. “Lost Dogs”. It is on the left side under Alerts & Publications.

I recently heard of someone getting an announcement on the radio for their lost dog. They got a few dozen calls within minutes for sightings and then ended up finding him. Not sure what station it was but definitely worth considering!
I’ve added to my site’s blog. I sure hope Balu is found and returned soon!
