We were up all night worrying about her, and finally got a call the next day that a couple picked her up and took care of her for the night. She seemed to be in shock yesterday from the whole situation, but she’s back to her normal self, sitting right beside me right now chewing on her toys.

Why are the original posts for lost&found always deleted?
For those who don’t visit this site every day, we only get half the story, i.e. the ending.
@chachacha – I don’t actually delete the post about the missing dog, I just change the information to say they’ve been found. It’s not really a vehicle for telling a story, it’s about getting the dogs home safely. Plus I don’t want there to be any confusion about a dog who has been found and people still thinking they are missing and out looking.
I still think it sucks. Maybe the original post can be kept on the bottom with a disclaimer: Now Found.
Can you expand on why you do not like it? I am a bit confused about that. I figure that since the dog is found, there’s no need for the post to contain information like the owner’s contact information.
I personally have no problem with the way you do it, Liz. The important part, to me, is that the dog has been found…I do still like looking at the cute pictures, though, hehe ^_^
Thanks again Liz for your post! I am the owner of Maple…she is happy and safe now
For the person who wanted to know the whole story: We were at Rockliffe park (offleash park) with some friends. A group of bigger dogs ended up running into eachother, one got hurt and others started barking. Maple got scared and took off into the woods. About 20 of us were searching for her, and calling her name. She must have gotten so frightened and disoriented that she ran all the way to the parkway and into traffic! A couple opened their car door, and she jumped in. They tried finding the owner, but it was getting late and couldn’t find us. Literally 5 minutes after they left we found a woman who said she was just talking to the people who had her. We were up the entire night putting up posters all around Ottawa. The next morning around 10am I finally got a hold of the Humane society and the nice men called them and got into contact with us. Most horrifying night of my life, but such a relief the next day. She was so excited when I came to pick her up, however she was in a bit of shock and slept most of the day. We’re now back to Conroy Pit and Maple is back to being a silly puppy.
Thanks again Liz for your post. The fact that you spent the time to help us out meant the world to us. Maple will be seeing you in Nov for the photo contest!
