I would be devastated if I lost my dog Duff who is a rescue who was likely abandoned by someone who didn't care what happened to him. He is such a sweet loving animal I can't understand how anyone could do that to an innocent animal. I have microchipped Duff but any further protection I can offer to him to keep him safe and have him returned to me if he gets lost, would mean the world to me. He is sleeping beside me right now on the couch. Life doesn't get better than that!

I'm Crusoe, the celebrity dachshund. You've probably heard of me, but if not, you can get to know me on my Facebook page; facebook.com/crusoedachshund.

Anyway, why do I want a Furcode..? Well, I'll probably never get lost because I'm always fully aware of my surroundings and am always prepared. I guess it's possible someone might want to kidnap me and hold me for millions of dollars in ransom. The Furcode will tell them who to contact for the ransom money.

I would also like one because I think it is very fashionable, and being a celebrity I need to keep up with the latest trends.

Hope I win!

Keep ballin',

~ Crusoe

I would love a FURCODE for my dog Miles. You see, as part of my job, I live abroad (though my homebase is Ottawa and I am Canadian - not sure if I'm still eligible but figured it wouldn't hurt to apply). Miles was adopted on my current posting (Tel Aviv, Israel) and will, of course, be moving with us transatlantic to the western US next summer.

A necessary evil will include airline travel across ocean, which I am still trying to wrap my mind around (should we go to Amsterdam on the way home so Miles can stay at the KLM pet hotel? Should I transit through Canada for a few days and then put him back on an airplane? Will that be better or worse? etc).

While Miles is tagged and microchipped, until we have registered him with the authorities in our new hometown, all the information about him will be related to our home in Israel, completely useless while we're in transit.

I think a furcode will help relieve a lot of my own anxieties about making sure that no matter where we are in the world, Miles will be equipped with the info someone would need to get him back to us.

Great giveaway, pick me!

Our little family would love to have FURCODEs! We have brought home two rescue dogs in the past 2 years - Deia a beautiful husky/pyrenees mix and Zen a great dane/lab mix. Deia was relinquished to us from a violent home, and Zen had been badly abused and then abandoned in Gatineau at the end of January to freeze. Neither of these dogs were microchipped when we found them & brought them home.

As is often the case with husky xes, Deia is prone to some houdini like escaping, and we are always very careful with her, because once she's free she is VERY hard to catch! We would be devastated to lose either of these wonderful pups.

My dog's name is Rex. We adopted him from the SPCA three years ago. He is 8 now. He is our family. If we lost him and didn't know where he was it would terrible! We'd go insane trying to find him before a shelter decided he was "too old" for adoption! That's why I want one :)

Hi! My name is Sabrina and I am owned by my doxie Pinto. Pinto is little sneaky one; as he is terribly lazy and loves to play couch potato rather than going for walks, it has happened that he got off his leash to run all the way back home by himself (who could think small dachshund legs could run so fast...oh my I couldn't catch him!). He was good finding his way but what if doesn't next time? I think FurCodes tags are a great complement to microship as anyone can then help!
