Yes dog groomers should be regulated! Poor Dog! This post makes me think of this First Aid for Pets workshop that Algonquin College is offering in June. Check it out if you want to learn how to keep your pets safe

There are already certified organizations in place. They are strickly on a voluntary basis, each groomer must become a member and educate themselves and present theselves for testing by their peers. They are IPG, NDGAA, ISCC. Ask your groomer , are they a member of one of these organizations? Do they attend educational seminars? Do they keep up-to-date on new trends and practices? Do they compete in grooming competitions? Do they groom for show? Or do you ask “how much does it cost to have my dog groomed?”
