(Ottawa Dog of the Week for April 20th/09)

“This is my dog Spenny. He is a black cocker spaniel and the love of my life. He is 3 years old but still acts like a puppy. He loves to chase balls, eating bones and snuggling. He thinks he is a lap dog but he is actually a lot bigger then a regular cocker spaniel. The first time we left him alone, outside of his crate, he dialed 911. A police officer came to the house to make sure everything was ok – the police officer said it happens a lot more then you know.
Everyone is amazed that I taught Spenny to fetch me a bottle of water. Everyone asks if I am going to teach him to fetch beer I don’t think so because those bottles are glass. Spenny is the first dog I have ever had and he is such a joy in my life. People say I’m a little crazy about my dog. I feel he is my responsibility and that he is well loved and taken care of.
I love you Spenny ” – Spenny’s Mom, Melinda
