“Sage is a 2 year old, highly energetic Boxer puppy. He may look tough but what I really have is a 60lb lap dog. Sage was recently diagnosed with epilepsy, which has not slowed him down one bit. Through daily medication we have been able to limit the symptoms. In his spare time, Sage is training to be a magician and has fully mastered the trick of moving his locked crate around the house, while inside, to retrieve items that he can then chew on… including my ottoman among other things. Magically, before I return home from work the crate is in its original position.” – Sage’s mom, Amy.

(Ottawa Dog of the Week for July 12th/10)

“This little guy’s full name is “Rocco, ‘Mud on the tires’, Balbones”, but around here, we just call him Rocco. We named him after Rocky Balboa, my favorite movie character, and ‘Mud on the tires’ is actually his CKC registered name, given to him by the Breeder.

Rocco is our curious, 15-week old, brindle, Boxer pup. He loves to make new friends and is always up for a playful romp in the backyard. Although he’s full of bouncing-baby-boy energy, he’ll never turn down an opportunity for a snuggle, and at night, he’s happier than a pig in mud, if he has his favorite toy bunny next to him as he sleeps. Rocco is slowly getting used to his crate but when he’s roaming around, he can often be seen with his chewy toys, attempting to catch his own tail, or trying to figure out how to play with our cat, Luna, without scaring her off. He’s a joy, and our first Boxer, so we’re excited to show him off! We have started puppy classes, where he’s popular with the ladies!! If you see us in dog parks around Ottawa, don’t be shy, we’d love to meet you and your doggy!” – Rocco’s human, Anat.

(Ottawa Dog of the Week for November 30th/09)

“Dori is my 1 year old boxer that I rescued from the Ottawa Humane Society. Dori was surrendered by her owners at only 8 weeks of age after they accidentally broke her foot in a door and they couldn’t afford to fix it. My husband and I adopted Dori in January of 2009 and she is quite a gem. Dori is a flashy fawn with a full tail, something you rarely see in pure bred boxers. Her favorite toy is a spoon…yes a metal, normal, everyday spoon. Dori is so smart that she even knows the best place to find spoons, in the dishwasher! As soon as she sees the dishwasher open Dori will race over and pick out the spoons (not the forks or knives…just the spoons) and if she accidentally chooses the wrong utensil, she’ll put the wrong one back in the dishwasher! Needless to say Dori is very smart and quirky! She definitely lives up to the Boxer name as she is truly a ham. Dori is also kind and affectionate which makes her an all around wonderful dog. ” – Dori’s Mom, Ashley

Keno is known to the area as the most lovable dog, the whole neighborhood were on the lookout for him. He is well loved and such a calm, kind dog. He was outside the store with people all around and his leash was over a ceramic post because were always in and out. My fiance went inside to grab his keys to put him in the house because he had this weird feeling and thought he didn’t want to leave him outside anymore. Its funny how your intuition is trying to tell you something. He went inside for 1 min and Keno was gone. So in order for him to have been let loose someone took his leash off the post. Its been two days of non-stop looking for him and we want to make sure people are aware this dog is stolen.

Keno is mix of a boxer and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He is caramel color with a white all around his neck and a white line between his eyes and has a very pink nose.

He was last seen on 461 Donald street at Dino’s Food Mart between 2 and 3pm.
