A few weeks ago I had the chance to meet Patricia who owns CanisWear, a dog apparel company. She was at the Bark and Fitz Kanata location personalizing dog apparel and I had my two little one’s nicknames put on their brand new CanisWear jackets. The coats are amazing and the dogs love them.

What kind of dog apparel do you create?
Coats, coveralls and hats. It is very important for me to offer dog apparel that combines style and function while still being Cute and VERY practical.
How did you get into doing dog-related apparel?
I have a diploma in Fashion Design and I worked as a fashion designer for seven years. I was lucky enough to work in Haute Couture in Paris for 6 months. Deep down inside, I always knew I wanted to have a business of my own one day but I just didn’t know what kind. When Charlie (my “BIG” yorkie) came into my life, is when it hit me. I felt that there was room in this industry for me to start a dog clothing collection. My idea was unique and I knew how to make it come alive.
