Ava Marie Online Auction

For those that might not be aware, BHRR’s Ava Marie is a Great Dane that came into BHRR on March 7th weighing 191.80 pounds and had two blown cruciates. After losing almost 40 pounds, BHRR’s Ava Marie had her first cruciate repair surgery on May 21st, 2010 at Liston Animal Hospital.

After then battling a case of pneumonia since June 30th; Ava Marie is now well enough to have her second cruciate repair surgery, which has been scheduled for Friday August 13th @ Liston Animal Hospital.

With all the kindness shown to date; we ONLY have another $1,309.25 left to raise for this surgery.

To help BHRR’s Ava Marie; we will be hosting an Online Auction which shall being on Saturday July 31st @ 7:00 AM and run through until Friday August 13th @ 9:00 PM EST

Ottawa Westie Walk Photo Contest!

To All Westie lovers ….

September 19th is the date for our annual Westie Walk and Fun Day BBQ. The walk will be held at a new location this year. Dogz Canine Sports Centre.

Westies in Need are adding a “Photo Contest” to our event and they NEED your photos.

They will display all the submitted pictures at the Westie walk for everyone to see and we will have a judge make the final decisions!

Photo Contest Rules:

Each family can submit a maximum of 3 pictures-we need the name(s) of dog(s) and the owners name with the picture(s)
Cut off date for the last pictures will be September 11th 2010
Categories will be: Most Westie-tude, Best Dressed or Costume, single Westie in photo, multiple Westies in photo and of course, a Best in Show winner!

So grab those cameras and start taking some pictures of those cute Westies!
