Who doesn’t love watching puppies play on a Friday morning?! Just wait until the puppies meet the resident cat – too cute!

“I researched for a long time what breed of dog would be best for me, and the answer always came back to a pug. They are funny, clever, affectionate companions, and usually great with other pets and children. I love their wrinkly little faces, sideways walk, and curly, cinnamon-bun tails! I had to wait several years but I finally got my pug! Satchmo is the sweetest little guy! I got him as a puppy at 11 weeks old, and he is now 2 years old.
Wherever I go, you will usually find him there, half a step behind me. He is a lot of fun to hang out with, up for anything from rides in the car, going to Nannie’s, playing in the dog park, going for long walks in the Arboretum, or cuddling on the couch watching TV. He understands over 30 people words, including all of his toys by name: Kong, Hedgehog, Lion, and NewToy (its not new anymore, but the name stuck!) The kitties are not so convinced of his awesomeness, but he has learned that they don’t mind him when he’s on his best behaviour.
He loves going to the cottage in the summer, where he runs all-day with his doggie-cousins, and swims in the lake. Not many pugs like to swim, but he gets right in there and paddles around to play with us in the water and to cool off. He likes to stick his tongue out when he swims. He loves to have visitors over; his snorts, wiggles, and “pug-run” make him the clown of the party! Everyone who meets him loves Satchmo’s quirky, loveable character, but no one loves him like his Mama!” – Satchmo’s mom, Kim

“Jiggs is a spunky, one year old British Bulldog. He loves kids, especially our two boys. He loves to run, play and sleep, and can’t get enough of his special toys: his pink rubber donut and his bones. His favourite place to hang is Conroy Pit, he loves playing with other dogs, although he often can’t keep up with them. The very best thing about Jiggs is that he is a very loving dog. He thinks he’s a lap dog, and loves to cuddle. My boys would say that his best trick is that he can give “props” on command, especially when there is a treat involved.
We all love our Jiggs!” – The Jones’ Family

“As of May 11th Yukon will be 15 weeks old and growing like a weed. He is a mixed breed of Chocolate Lab and Siberian Husky. We bought him when he was just 6 weeks old and have enjoyed him thoroughly. Yukon has made many friends at the various dog parks around Ottawa, and shares a special bond with his trainer’s dog Zeus. Yukon is enjoying being a puppy, but it hasn’t been all play. Rachel Armstrong, of ‘RASCALS’ Dog Training, has been training him since he was 8 weeks old and it has certainly paid off. He can sit, down, shake a paw, walk beside us on leash, and is currently trying to master rolling over. Here’s what ‘Rachel Teacher’ had to say about Yukon…
“As a dog trainer new to the business and fresh out of training school, I was unsure what to expect from a dog as young as Yukon. We started training when Yukon was only 8 weeks old…just recently housebroken! But this little puppy surprised everyone, including myself. After only a few lessons, Yukon had mastered his sit and down commands with both voice and hand signals, a ‘drop it’ command, and even some recall commands. Now when you pass Yukon on the street at just 11 weeks of age, you may notice that he is a model on-leash walker, and if you ask nicely, you can shake paws with the smartest puppy in Ottawa!”
If anyone is interested in having their dog trained by Rachel please contact her at 613-204-4145.” – Yukon’s people, Jennifer and Jordan

“Belle is a mini-schnauzer. She’s only 8 months old but is very smart and was house trained at 3 months. She’s very good house dog and alerts us with her cute quiet little barks when a stranger walks by. She loves playing in the snow and can’t get enough of it.
She is very affectionate with people once she is familiar with them and is so playful. She loves going to Grandma’s house when Mommy and Daddy go to work because Grandma has a Bull Terrier named Maggie and they’ve become the best of friends.
Her favorite place to go is to Bruce Pit on the weekends and puppy class at Petsmart. She loves playing with other dogs, especially bigger dogs because she thinks she’s a big dog herself.” – Belle’s Owner, Tran
