Ottawa Dog of the Week for February 25th

Fozzy is a Collie cross adopted from the Navan Animal Rescue as an 8 week old puppy. Once in his new home he quickly bonded with his “little” cat sisters Stevie and Magic. He enjoys grooming Stevie to keep her whiskers neat and short and patiently stands aside to watch Magic to eat his dinner, until we intervene and shoo her away!

Fozzy, social butterfly that he is, is always excited for his walks so he can meet new people and dogs. To Fozzy every stranger is a potential new Best Friend! His favourite activities including standing in between visitors legs (the optimal position for a bum scratch), chasing bunnies down the ravine by his house, cuddling on the couch with his parents and stealing toys from his dog friends to entice them to chase him.

He is definitely a winter dog who loves laying in the snow for extended periods of time and spends most of the spring searching the park for the last remnants of snow and ice to roll on!

He is a hardworking companion, dutifully getting up early each morning to remind us its time to get up (even on weekends when we have “forgotten” to set the alarm) and then quickly taking our spot in bed, head on the pillows; in order to keep it warm in our absence of course!
