I sit here just torn apart by news I’ve just received. Two dogs went missing in the past week and both were hit by cars and did not survive their injuries. It is such terribly gut wrenching news and my heart goes out to both families.

Unfortunately in running this blog I see trends and one of them is the missing dog trends. It happens when the seasons change; winter to spring, fall to winter. I don’t know why, but it seems to happen this way.

Just to be safe, please make sure that as the snow melts you check your yard for any holes or gaps that may have formed. I know that this winter our (annoying) neighbourhood bunny made MANY holes in our fence and we are planning on fixing that soon and until we do, I never let the dogs out of my sight while they are in the yard.

Please make sure your four legged family members are safe, and give them a big hug tonight, for those two dogs who aren’t coming home…

The Shih Tzu’s owners went searching at the Ottawa Humane Society and he is now back home with his family.

On Sunday Dec 27th, my dog Bowzer went missing. He is an american Bulldog just over a year old. He has all white fur but black spots on his body and 2 black spots right on his upper and lower eyelid left eye. He was last seen at my mom’s house On Dunrobin/ Vance Sd rd intersecting the area. He is an amazing dog who loves everyone. He is deaf tho and him going missing. I feel lost without him!

He is a medium sized dog (a lot smaller than what his size should be) but he is wide and very muscular. He probably weighs around 70 pounds and was last seen wearing his black leather collar with his nametag (with my number on it) as well as his rabies tag given by the vet.

If anyone is to see him best way to get him to come to you is food as he is deaf, but being a bulldog loves his food too.

Dawson disappeared from our home in Fitzroy Harbour on Monday December 14th around 2:30pm. He is a brown and white, neutered Jack Russell Terrier. He was wearing a black collar with his name tag “Dawson Mac” and the City of Napanee dog tags. We just moved to Fitzroy Harbour in mid August and had not gotten around to change his tags. It is out of character for Dawson to run away, he was always around the house never straying far. He is very loving and affectionate dog whom we miss terribly. We will reward who ever locates him. Our family would appreciate any help we can get in locating Dawson.
